Board & Train

A board & train program is an immersive dog training experience where the dog stays with the trainer for an agreed upon time to receive consistent, hands on training.

A board & train is not a quick fix. It is an investment. Think of it as time for your dog to develop a solid foundation for you to build off after the board & train is complete.

Each board & train comes with a detailed go-home session and follow up sessions to help maintain the progress moving forward.

Board & trains are for dogs 8 months and older.

  • 21 day board & train: $3,600

    • Good for dogs without behavioral issues who are looking to improve basic obedience, on-leash recall, crate training, potty training, loose leash walking, and/or developing a foundation for neutrality in public places.

    • Includes four private lessons:

      • 1 go home session (2-3 hours in length)

      • 3 follow up sessions after board & train

    28 day board & train: $4,800

    • Good for dogs with minimal behavioral issues who are looking to improve basic obedience, on-leash recall, crate training, potty training, loose leash walking, and practicing neutrality in public places.

    • A 5+ week board & train is appropriate for dogs with more severe behavioral challenges such as severe reactivity, separation anxiety, resource guarding, and/or aggression. It is important to note that there is no quick fix and addressing deeply ingrained behavioral challenges takes time and consistency.

  • Dogs must be:

  • Booking:

    • Complete the training screening form.

    • I will follow up by email to communicate if I feel it will be a good fit and schedule a screening call. If I do not feel like it is a good fit, I will make recommendations for other trainers who may be able to better meet your needs.

    • After the screening call, you can take the time you need to decide if you want to do the board & train.

    • 50% deposit is due at the time of booking.

    • The remainder is due 48 hours prior to the board & train.

    • I cannot hold your spot until the deposit is received.

    Cancellations:

    Reschedules:

    • Board & trains are not easily rescheduled. It may result in deferring until I am accepting the next round of board & trains which could be months.

*Discounted rates available for rescues organizations.

I do not offer puppy training, day trains, sport dog training or group classes. If you are interested in those services, I am more than happy to make referrals to other trainers in the Kitsap area.

Reminder: There is no room for ego in dog training. My top priority is the safety of humans and dogs with whom I interact with. If I do not feel that I have the necessary experience, time, or skills to work with your dog, I will make recommendations for other trainers.
